The Sands Montessori Parent Organization prides itself on supporting our community. Find out all the ways in which we’re doing just that below!

Exciting Updates to the Outdoor campus!

Students, parents, and teachers worked every week this summer to improve the outdoor campus at Sands. They watered 50 trees throughout the hot, dry summer. They painted new features on the blacktop. They built picnic tables for the outdoor classroom. They sawed, rolled, cut, dug, and shoveled their way to giving the children the first phase of the natural playscape. If you would like to donate to phase 2 (trees, shrubs, and a fence) click here. Thank you to all that have helped through donations and sweat equity!

$30,000 Upgrade to Our Outdoor Campus!?

Did you know that the SMPO is beginning a $30,000 upgrade to the outdoor campus? That’s right! Starting this Spring and Summer, you will notice 50 trees being planted, a natural playscape being built, the installation of a shade structure, new blacktop features, and more! You have the opportunity to join in and help any way you can. Would you like to donate to help cover the cost of fun features?

Would you like to buy a legacy tree for the campus with your name on it? Would you like to help us paint new blacktop features or build the playscape? If so, you can donate here: or email to volunteer to help! We need your support!

Behind the SMPO Curtain

We have a Garden Gang of parents and students that helps keep the Sands garden beds in top top shape for the students and teachers? There are tenclasses growing food this spring! If you are interested in helping throughout the summer, let us know.

Behind the SMPO Curtain

Each year the SMPO offers mini grants totaling $5000 that teachers can apply for to collaborate and complete special projects. Since COVID delayed the grant last year, the SMPO will grant up to $10,000 this year!

Behind the SMPO Curtain

The SMPO has already given over $42,000 to direct teacher support just this year. Much of this money is raised by you from events such as the Read-A-Thon and the upcoming Carnival. It helps with expenses such as field trips, classroom supplies, in-school performances/programs, and subscriptions to learning materials! Way to go!
